VILLA HELLENA

Villa Hellena

Villa Hellena is one of the most significant cultural and historical monuments in the municipality of Opovo. Built at the beginning of the 20th century as a family residence of Austro-Hungarian General Mihajlo Manojlović and his wife Jelena, the villa combines architectural influences of Neoclassicism and Secession, adapted to the local building tradition.

During the 20th century, the building changed its purpose—from a private residence, to a primary school, and later a period of neglect and deterioration.

Thanks to reconstruction, adaptation, and conservation projects carried out between 2023 and 2025, Villa Helena has been restored and today represents a distinguished cultural space where museum collections from various fields are preserved and exhibited.
