VILLA HELLENA
Art Collection
The art collection constitutes a coherent body of representative examples of fine art in the form of paintings and sculptures by both domestic and international artists, thematically connected to the local context of the Municipality of Opovo. This segment of the collection highlights its distinctiveness and significant territorial and cultural value.
Most of the works were acquired as donations from artists who exhibited in the Gallery, either through events such as the International Art Colony “Opovo” and the Watercolourists’ Meeting of Serbia, or through group and solo exhibitions.
A particularly valuable part of the collection consists of two original paintings by Jovan Popović from the 19th century, acquired from private collections following the construction of the gallery in 1970.
